📍Sainte-Chapelle, Paris Sainte-Chapelle is one 📍Sainte-Chapelle, Paris

Sainte-Chapelle is one of my favourite sights to visit in Paris for its beautiful stained glass windows and fascinating history ✨

Here are some travel tips for your visit:

🎟️ Book your tickets online to avoid long queues.
☀️ It’s best to visit on a sunny morning to avoid crowds or before sunset, so the sun’s rays enter at an angle. I took this video first thing in the morning👆🏽
🪟The visit starts in the Lower Chapel. But you can find the hidden staircase at the side of the entrance to go straight to the Upper Chapel, which contains the stained glass windows.
🕚 It’s pretty small, so it can take you 30 min to 1 hour to visit. But slowing down, perhaps listening to the audio guide or simply spending some time to marvel at its beauty it’s definitely worth it.
🚶🏽‍♀️It’s only 5 min walk from the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Did you know..?

🎨The stained glass windows depict scenes from the Old and New Testaments of the Christian Bible. In the 13th century, much of the world’s population was illiterate, and that’s why churches were decorated with sculptures, stained glass and paintings telling stories of the Bible.

I actually missed out on this on my first Paris trip. But when I found out it’s what inspired the Phantom of the opera, I knew I had to visit on my second visit - and it did not disappoint!

🕛 Plan between 1 to 2 hours to admire all the unique spaces. The architecture, decor and ambiance make it all worth it.

🎼 If you are a fan of the arts, especially theatre and music, this place will definitely resonate with you.

📍Palais Garnier, Paris

📍Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, Paris This is o 📍Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, Paris

This is one of my favourite destinations in Paris for the architecture and views. Best of all, it’s free!

Facts:

🛍️ It’s an upmarket French department store chain, the biggest in Europe and founded in 1893.
✨ It’s known for its stunning Art Nouveau architecture, upscale fashion, gourmet food and in-store activities.
🪩 The glass dome is one of the most recognisable features.

Tips:

🗼 Go up to the rooftop for panoramic views of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower.
🎭 Visit the Opera Garnier while you are in the neighbourhood. It’s only a couple of minutes away.
🖼️ You can walk to the Louvre Museum in about 18 min, so you can see both places on the same day.
